Cover Care
Stains and spills are a part of everyday life, so if you've chosen furniture with removable slipcovers, you're making a smart choice. Regularly washing these slipcovers will keep your furniture looking fresh and clean for longer than you might expect.
Here are some essential tips to keep in mind before washing your covers for the first time:
-
Check the Care Label: Not all fabrics can be washed or ironed. It's important to read the care instructions on the label or reach out to the seller for clarification. All of our materials, except for Cashmere Blends (which are spill-resistant), can be washed.
-
For Pet Owners: Before washing, it's best to remove any pet hair to avoid clogging your washing machine. You can easily brush off fur using a rubber glove or a vacuum cleaner.
-
Address Stains First: If you notice any stains, especially on lighter-colored covers, treat them before washing. Use a fabric-friendly stain remover, allowing it to soak in for a minute before gently blotting with a microfiber cloth. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this can push it deeper into the fabric.
-
Use the Delicate Cycle: For your first wash, select the delicate cycle on your washing machine. Always refer to the care label for the appropriate temperature.
-
Air-Dry the Covers: After washing, air-drying is recommended to prevent shrinkage. If the care label permits, you can iron the covers once they are dry.
